Hi, class, and welcome
to our class blog! The course, "Survey of Shakespearean Literature," examines William Shakespeare as dramatist and poet, with close readings of representative works. We will pay close attention to the major themes and characters of some of the Bard's most famous works, and will discuss their place in the social and literary context. This blog is where I will post links, handouts, video clips, and
additional readings to supplement our course work. You, in turn, may respond in the "Comments"
section, if you would like. I look forward to an engaging semester with you as we consider
the persistence of Shakespeare. A variety of approaches will be used to meet our course objectives. Activities will include lectures, film screenings, group work, student presentations, and extensive discussion.
